This Tesco is the biggest I have ever visited!
This store is massive and set over 2 floors.
Well stocked with a good variety on offer. Groceries are on the ground floor, while toiletries and clothing are on the first floor.
This store is well served by several different bus routes, Streatham train station is a 5-minute walk away, and there is also a generous sized car park available.
Unsafe and insecure toilet, people trapping you into charity when you come in and regular staff wearing security items which is very intimidating! As seen in the photo the toilet door will open if pushed due to poor installation, charity muggers at front door asking the poor to feed the poor in a a place that makes billions.
Obviously the choice in food here is good but you have to put up with a lot.
Deeply saddened by this as I love a big Tesco.
great market! It has many products and also things for the home. There are always promotions and new products. Be careful if you need to buy household products, personal hygiene or clothes, these items are on the second floor and it closes at 10pm even though the market is open until 0am.
Terrible staff at the self checkout (nana) was passive agressive, rude and misleading she clearly doesn’t know how to deal with people and or customers. She was even rude to her fellow members of staff so clearly she doesn’t get along with anyone. Very upset a terrible experience made me and my friends feel undermined and disrespected. Someone needs to handle nana until she gets out of hand towards future customers and staff
I went to do some shopping on tuesday 21st november at this store. It was at the checkout that I was so impressed with one of your checkout staff. I dont know her name as she didnt have a name badge on. But she is elderly ; she has grey hair that is tied up in a pony tail. There was alittle old lady in front of me and she was so kind to her and told her to take her time and not let anyone hurry her. Afterwards when she had paid this checkout lady got out of her seat to show her where she could go to pack her shopping, again telling her to take her time. So much kindness. And you dont see so much of that about these days.... Well done to her. She is doing an amazing job even at her time of life.
Visited for first time today and first impressions are 'meh', faff and stuck in the 80's. First thing you notice is how big the store is; it has two storeys. I got the impression with the layout they were trying to imitate Lidl or Aldi. But the aisles are well spaced and everything looks clean, bordering on the clinical. Provided you have a clubcard, there are some good offers to be had. But for me there are too many obstacles for an enjoyable shopping experience:
FAFF1 There is no scan & shop (which is my preferred method of shopping) like Sainsbury's down the road. So queue up people.
FAFF 2 Some essentials and clothing are on the upper floor. So you take the escalator and your full trolley upstairs adding time to your shopping ;that's even if you find what you're looking for.
FAFF3 You have to negotiate the out-of-order car park payment
stalls and queue (again) for one that works. Then you fiddle trying to find your receipt to scan it at the machine (which sometimes doesn't work.) With Sainsbury's, you just park, no payments, get your trolley, pick up your shop & scan scanner and you pay at the appropriate machine and you're done.
Tescos needs to get with the times at this store, because it seems to be stuck in the 80's.
Today's review is more about how quickly I got in and out of the shop, thanks to the Tesco app. I searched for what I wanted, found it was on offer and which aisle it was in (all in the app) and completed my shop really quickly. I was pretty impressed. I had a few niggles around checking out and leaving the store but nothing like dreadful Aldi...
I am lucky to have the a big Tesco so close to me with all its facilities. A huge car park, car wash facilities, key cutting, cash point, clothing and electronics department is a consumers' joy. During lockdown some of these facilities were not available, but, apart from groceries, if I needed the odd item of clothing, items for home etc, I knew I could rely on Tesco. Staff are always very helpful downstairs. But, help could be pretty disappointing upstairs unfortunately (home, clothes and electronics). They could improve a bit on that.
